Sakarya Phase II – Empowering Türkiye’s Energy Future

Engineering Integrity Behind the Black Sea’s Largest Gas Development

Sakarya Phase II continues the transformation of Türkiye’s deepwater energy sector. With NWE’s technical supervision and inspection expertise, this major offshore expansion is delivering smarter subsea infrastructure and greater national gas output.

NWE’s Strategic Contribution to Sakarya Phase II

From Europe to the Black Sea — Engineering Oversight Without Borders

As Türkiye expands its offshore energy capabilities, NWE is actively supporting Sakarya Phase II through:

  • Engineering design reviews

  • On-site supervision (mechanical, piping, E&I, HSE)

  • Global material inspections

  • Third-party verifications during fabrication and installation

Operating across Türkiye, Italy, Romania, Norway, Finland, and Sweden, NWE ensures each component of this complex supply chain meets strict technical and safety standards.

Sakarya: A National Energy Milestone

Türkiye’s First Deepwater Gas Field Moves Into Its Next Phase

Discovered in 2020, the Sakarya Gas Field lies 170 km offshore in the western Black Sea, at depths of around 2,000 meters. After the successful commissioning of Phase I, Phase II is focused on increasing production capacity by connecting new wells, expanding subsea systems, and reinforcing the Filyos onshore processing plant.

Project Scope & Execution

Advanced Infrastructure for Scalable Energy Output

This phase includes:

  • Installation of additional manifolds, risers, flowlines, and dynamic umbilicals

  • Integration of new wells and subsea equipment to the CPF (Central Processing Facility)

  • Major offshore pipeline campaigns and international fabrication efforts

All project elements are designed to support long-term production growth while maintaining operational resilience in deepwater conditions.

Trusted by Leading Energy Developers

Independent Oversight for Mission-Critical Infrastructure

NWE’s role as an independent verifier and supervisor helps ensure:

  • Safety & reliability in fabrication and installation

  • Compliance with international engineering codes

  • Consistency across global vendor networks

This project highlights NWE’s strength in supporting multi-country execution models while maintaining clear technical alignment.
