Pressurized Equipment — Permanent Joint Inspection (PED) | RTPO (ISO/IEC 17020)

As a Recognized Third-Party Organization (RTPO) under PED 2014/68/EU, NWE provides impartial verification and approval of permanent joints (e.g., welding, brazing) on pressure equipment to the Essential Safety Requirements of Annex I. Our inspectors witness WPS/PQR qualification, verify welder/brazer qualifications (WPQ/BQ), oversee production test plates and NDT acceptance, and check materials traceability, heat treatment (PWHT) and documentation. This independent oversight reduces non-conformities, de-risks the manufacturer’s conformity assessment, and strengthens the technical file for notified-body review. All activities are performed by an ISO/IEC 17020–accredited inspection body to ensure competence, consistency, and full PED compliance.

NWE is accredited by Norwegian Accreditation in accordance with ISO/IEC 17020 for Permanent Joining Procedure Approval under PED 2014/68/EU, Annex I, Section 3.1.2 (RTPO).
