Neptun Deep Phase I Project in Romania | Pipeline & Subsea Engineering Expertise

The Neptun Deep Project is a major offshore natural gas development located in the Romanian sector of the Black Sea. It is poised to become Romania’s largest gas project, aiming to significantly enhance the country’s energy independence. The development includes drilling production wells, installing subsea infrastructure, and connecting the field to an onshore gas treatment plant via a subsea pipeline system. NWE is engaged in various critical scopes, including engineering design assessments, QA/QC activities, on-site supervision, and integrated inspection solutions across multiple work packages, both offshore and onshore.

(1)

The Neptun Deep gas field is located approximately 160 km offshore in the Romanian sector of the Black Sea, in water depths of around 1,000 meters. The development is a cornerstone of Romania’s offshore energy strategy, with initial production expected from several high-rate subsea wells.

The project scope includes the deployment of subsea production systems, installation of infield pipelines and umbilicals, and construction of an onshore gas treatment facility. The offshore and onshore facilities will be fully integrated to deliver and process natural gas for domestic and regional markets.
