Accredited Inspection And Certification OF Process Facilities
NWE is officially accredited to inspect both new and in-service process facilities, providing independent third-party assessment across critical processing equipment and systems.
Operating as an Inspection Body Type A in accordance with NS-EN ISO/IEC 17020:2012 under accreditation number INSP 073, NWE performs inspections within the scope granted by Norwegian Accreditation. The accredited scope covers process facilities subject to the Norwegian Regulation on the Handling of Hazardous Substances (FOR-2009-06-08-602), Section 9.
NWE’s accredited scope applies to process facilities at different stages of their operational lifecycle, from newly constructed installations to facilities already in service.
Depending on the facility configuration and the agreed inspection scope, the work may include:
- Reactors and process towers
- Heat exchangers
- Pressure vessels
- Process piping systems
- Pumps and associated equipment
- Packaged and modular process skids
This capability enables asset owners and operators to obtain an impartial assessment of safety-critical equipment and systems against applicable regulatory and technical requirements.
Independent Type A Inspection
As a Type A inspection body, NWE performs its accredited inspection activities independently and impartially. This separation is essential when inspection findings are used to support regulatory compliance, technical decision-making and the safe continued operation of process facilities.
NWE’s inspection approach combines technical competence, structured assessment and clear documentation to help clients identify relevant conditions, verify compliance and address issues before they affect safety or operational reliability.
Rope Access Support Through Celer
In collaboration with Celer, NWE can integrate certified rope access teams into inspection assignments where equipment or structural areas are difficult to reach.
This coordinated approach supports:
- Safe access to elevated, confined or complex locations
- More complete inspection coverage
- Efficient execution in operating facilities
- Better coordination between access and inspection activities
Rope access capability allows inspection teams to reach critical areas without compromising the independence or technical rigor of NWE’s accredited inspection work.
Supporting Safety, Compliance and Operational Continuity
From complex reactors and process towers to critical pressure equipment and piping systems, NWE delivers independent inspection services designed to support safety, regulatory compliance and operational continuity.
By combining accredited Type A inspection competence with practical access solutions, NWE helps clients establish a reliable technical basis for managing both new and operating process facilities.
