NWE Group is proud to contribute to the Baleine Phase II project, a major milestone in the continued development of the Baleine offshore oil and gas field in Côte d’Ivoire. This phase aims to expand production capacity by drilling new wells, installing advanced subsea production systems, and deploying a larger FPSO unit upgraded to handle increased throughput.
NWE’s scope includes engineering design appraisals, global material inspections, third-party verifications, and on-site supervision during construction, installation, and commissioning—ensuring the highest levels of safety, quality, and performance.

Located in Blocks CI-101 and CI-802, the Baleine field lies in 1,200–1,500 meters of water depth off the coast of Côte d’Ivoire. Building on the success of Phase I, the second phase introduces new drilling campaigns and the installation of additional subsea infrastructure, alongside the deployment of a larger FPSO.
Importantly, Baleine is recognized as Africa’s first net-zero offshore development, featuring low-emission operations, carbon capture technologies, and robust environmental monitoring—positioning the project as a model for sustainable energy production in the region.
