After a reported boat collision, NWE deployed its Blueye X3 ROV to inspect the pier’s underwater foundations. The inspection confirmed that the structure remains stable and safe for continued operations.

Key findings included:

  • No structural damage: columns and tripod foundations securely connected, with no signs of cracking or displacement.

  • Marine growth intact: biofouling patterns showed no recent disturbance.

  • Unrelated debris: detached concrete fragments near the base did not match the pier structure.

Recommendations:

To ensure long-term reliability, NWE recommends:

  • periodic ROV inspections after significant events,

  • removal of debris from the pier base,

  • and preventive measures such as navigational aids or protective barriers.

Closing line:

The inspection demonstrates NWE’s ability to deliver rapid, evidence-based assessments—supporting safer marine operations even after unexpected incidents.
