Course Overview

The volume of crude oil produced worldwide amounted to 90-100 million barrel per day, around 420 active oil refineries existed, the safe and reliable operation of the oil refineries is a major concern of operators from storage area from production fields(upstream) to refinery (downstream)needs inspection and maintenance during their service life, on this regard there are many regulations, codes and standards for inspection and maintenance.

some main standards and regulations have developed in the last 100 years, familiarity with these standards and how to use of these, what is the relationship between theses standards and the final important objective of using these standards, the assessment of results is very important.

The proposed course is designed for learning the necessary knowledge and competency for all inspectors those involved in oil industry and some related industries such as Petro chemical or chemical.

The nucleation and basic thought of this course has been started for the essential needs of industries for a comprehensive course that collected all requirements for specially inspection the oil refinery plants.

There are many standards courses for inspections, repair, NDT, damage mechanism, API codes, fitness for service assessments and many other standard courses, these courses are general and doesn’t refer to specific industry at all, in the proposed course the oil refinery units is the focal point.

30 Hour course with a 2-hour exam

The exam will be conducted in two parts

closed- book  (theory) and open-book (case study)

The course is including theory and practical sections

The practical part will be conducted by the designed  case studies to increase the ability of candidates to  assess the pipelines in real condition
